City of Rocks is a beautiful National Reserve that is operated by Idaho Parks & Recreation. The visitor's center is located in the city of Alma & this is where you'll start the tour. I highly recommend watching the 10 minute video explaining the Reserve's origins.

Beautiful place to go camping and hiking. The rock formations are gorgeous through the park. I am not a rock climber, but I understand this is a rock climbing paradise. The campground amenities in and around the park may vary, but there is something for everyone and they are all well kept. My wife and I plan to return soon to continue hiking and exploring the park.

The staff at visitor's center are very hospitable and knowledgeable.

Since I'm a fat, lazy American, I chose to use my automobile and tour the reserve via the City of Rocks unpaved road. Make sure to hit the visitor's center in Alma, ID first for maps and brochures of this beautiful park.

The rocks are a really pretty sight, but if you do go there go to the castle rocks too because it's also great. If you go to either or both plan to go hiking and climbing. Also great 4 a photo shoot.

The enterence to City of Rocks is less than a mile away from visitor's center There is a unpaved road that will allow you to drive through the Reserve and take in the sights. For those with more brass than I, hiking and biking are alternative ways to see City of Rocks. Idaho is such beautiful country and the City of Rocks did not disappoint. Fantastic family experience!

The City of Rocks is a National Reserve that is an awesome family destination that affords such activities as hiking, camping and even hunting. Beautiful walks that offer scenic views near the California Trail, unequal photographic

Love climbing in the city. It's such a great place. World class. I wish there was more camping available. Also a lot of people don't leash their dog so be ready to deal with their dog while you climb.
